Farina Griffiths in Lyon

Farina Griffiths enjoys her life in Lyon, the second largest city in France. This beautiful city is not as crowded as Paris. A culinary adventure in Lyon is also fantastic. Restaurants provide cuisine prepared by passionate chefs and cooks. “Every menu is like a poem.”

Lyon also has a very important thing for Farina, “The education system is fabulous.” Elang, 6 years of age, Farina’s son with Arlo Griffiths, woke up every morning happily. Could not wait to go to school.

At kindergarten, Elang and his friends learned in a happy environment. All subjects were delivered in music, singing, dancing. Carrots that made you clever, farmers who produced food, and about respecting others. “Children are singing in a choir with three different harmonies. A song about carrot, hehehehe…”

All songs and dances are what made Elang grew to be an expressive child. Free. Independent. Farina who teaches English for 5th to 12th grade in Lyon also learned a lot.

Elang learned to be a loving persona at school. For instance, all students were requested to write a poem for their mothers on every Mother’s Day, on the second week of May.

The poem must be memorized, then in the Mother’s Day morning, each student will have to cite the poem in front of their newly-woken up mother. “Oh dear, my heart just melts…” Farina said with gleaming eyes.

This the poem Elang wrote for his mother.

*Si j’étais jardinier*

Si j’étais jardinier

Je ferais pousser une fleur en forme de cœur

Elle serait pour maman

Qui la garderait longtemps

Car maman saurait que la fleur c’est tout l’amour de mon cœur

*If I were a gardener*

If I were a gardener

I would tend a heart-shaped flower

The flower for a mother who will foster wholeheartedly

Because a mother will know that flower is a fragment of my love

By the way, this conversation did not happen in Lyon (I wish), but in Jakarta at Avimahaningtyas’ house
